The Hayman range of guitars comprised the following four models: 1010 guitar, 2020 guitar, 3030 guitar, 4040 bass. The company started in 1969, when Ivor Arbiter invited Jim Burns to help develop a new range of guitars to be marketed under the Hayman name. He accepted and accordingly joined forces with Bob Pearson, an ex-Vox employee.
